Lady Falcons win in landslide

Forest Lake Christian’s varsity girls had no trouble Friday night with Sacramento Country Day, defeating the hosts 70-18 in Central Valley Christian League play.

Julia Hall finished with season highs in points (10) and rebounds (9) for FLC, while Olympia Jacobs had 14 points and four steals and Lauren Jackson scored 12 points.

FLC (14-3 overall, 6-0 CVCL) faces Div. III power Natomas at 6 p.m. Today in the Sacramento Challenge at Center High School.

“Obviously that will be a tell-tale game for us,” FLC coach Rob Hodges said. “After competing with them, we’ll know where we are.”

The Lady Falcons’ junior varsity team was a 56-21 winner over Country Day. Mackenzie Deneen had 12 points, five rebounds and five steals for the Lady Falcons.

FLC boys drop CVCL matchup

Forest Lake Christian’s varsity boys fell to Country Day 77-55 Friday.

Taylor Lawrence led the Falcons with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Mark Boatman had 14 points, Aaron Johnson scored 13 – including three 3-pointers – and Chris Keller added 10.

FLC (6-11 overall, 2-5 CVCL) hosts Victory Christian at 8 p.m Tuesday.

FLC’s JV defeated Country Day 64-17.

Lady Miners JV shut down Honkers

Nevada Union’s junior varsity girls stayed in second place in the Metro Conference hunt Friday, defeating Yuba City 38-26 Friday.

The Miners limited the Honkers to 13 points over the final three


“We just put on some suffocating defense,” said NU coach Dan Murphey.

Rebecca Harris led NU with 11 points.

The Miners (4-1 Metro) host Grant Wednesday.
