Lady Falcons fall short in Sac Challenge

The Forest Lake Christian girls basketball team lost 49-37 to Natomas (Sacramento) in the team’s nonleague Sacramento Challenge matchup Saturday.

FLC (14-4 overall), which trailed by two points after the first quarter, was outscored 15-6 in the second stanza to trail by 11 points at the break.

The Lady Falcons mounted a third-quarter charge, outscoring the Lady Nighthawks 13-9, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

The Sacramento Challenge is an annual, midseason event that gives squads from different leagues a chance to test their skills against each other.

Brittany Allen, a freshman guard, led the way for FLC with 14 points. Lindsay Hayward chipped in eight points in the loss.

The Lady Falcons will put their undefeated Central Valley Christian League record on the line at home against Victory Christian 7 p.m. Tuesday.
