Jr. Red Sox shut down A’s

The Nevada City Jr. Red Sox continued their winning ways Thursday night, beating the Tri City Athletics, 13-9.

After the Red Sox were up 9 – 3 through the fourth inning the, the A’s piled on six runs to tie the game at 9 – 9 in the fifth. The Red Sox followed by scoring two runs in the sixth and seventh innings each.

Hits by Cooper Hardwick and Brandon Wasley-Long, plus seven others helped in the win. Strong pitching by Rob Wood and an injured Conner Fuller were used to shut down the A’s.

The Red Sox will play in the championship game 7 p.m. Saturday in Rocklin against the winner of Friday’s Bear River vs. Rocklin matchup.
