Jr. Miners fall to Jr. Wolfpack

The Nevada Union Jr. Miners (Midget Division) faced off with the Cosumnes Oaks Jr. Wolfpack Saturday at Hooper Stadium.

After a hard fought game, the Jr. Miners wound up on the losing end of a 18-12 final score.

The Jr. Miners got an impressive effort from Dillon Roberts with 106 rushing yards and a touchdown. Zachary Fink added 60 rush yards and touchdown as well.

Leading the Jr. Miners defense was Duke Morales with 15 total tackles and Morales also blocked a Jr. Wolfpack extra point attempt.

The loss drops the Jr. Miners to 2-3 overall this season, and 2-1 Sierra Valley USA Youth Football’s North Division.

The Jr. Miners program did earn a win at the Junior Midget level, beating Cosumnes Oaks 37-18 to improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Sierra Valley USA Youth Football’s North Division.

Next up for the Jr. Miners program is a home game at Hooper Stadium against the Placer Jr. Hillmen.
