Jr. Golf Clinic set for June

Over the past 11 years nearly 1,000 youngsters have learned the basics of golf in a community program sponsored by the membership of the Nevada County Country Club.

Local boys and girls ages 8-17 are invited to sign up now for the 12th Annual Nevada County Country Club Junior Golf Clinic, which will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 18-20.

“We want to introduce the game of golf to the juniors of our community,” said Club Pro/Manager Jeff Fish. “It’s a chance for them to learn a game that they can play and enjoy for the rest of their lives.”

Five local golf pros will teach the basics of the golf swing, putting, chipping, pitching and golf etiquette. Hours are 12:30-3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 11:30 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Registration is $15 per junior and must be completed by the parent in person at the country club, 1040 East Main Street, in Grass Valley.

For information, call the club at (530) 273-6436.
