Hot Shots – Lief Nielsen

Bear River goaltender Leif Nielsen stonewalled the competition at the Marysville Jamboree boys soccer tournament Aug. 24.

The junior, who shut out Union Mine of El Dorado in the tournament’s opener, totaled 15 saves in two matches between the goal pipes.

“He did a fantastic job for us. He had some great saves in the first match to save the shutout,” Bruins head coach Dave Molina said.

Nielsen, who will share goalkeeper’s duties with Andy Adams and Jacob Hernandez this season, is a natural, according to Molina.

“We’ve got two very good goalkeepers in Leif and Andy. They’re both big, physical and courageous,” he said.
