Happy campers

Six junior varsity and varsity teams converged at Nevada Union’s football camp this weekend as the 2007 prep football season nears.

Marin Catholic, Natomas, Pioneer, Placer and Riordan joined the Miners to work on technique and skills.

“All the coaches were very pleased,” Nevada Union coach Dave Humphers said. “As for our team, we’re very excited about the upcoming season. We feel we came a long way in the game in terms of development.”

Humphers said the team is anxious to hit the field.

“It’s the countdown to kickoff,” Humphers said. “We’re less than 60 days away from our first game, so we’re excited.”
