Hangtown celebrates 40th year

The Honda Hangtown Motocross Classic at Hangtown MX Park in the Prairie City State Vehicle Recreation Area celebrates 40 years of national event racing this weekend.

A host to professional motocross since 1968, and a part of the AMA Motocross Championship since 1974, Hangtown will commemorate its anniversary with unique changes to the historic circuit.

A redesigned track layout will present a fresh challenge for the riders. Combine that with a reverse direction run around the hallowed grounds for a truly innovative experience for riders and fans alike.

Track officials have also introduced an expanded seating and hospitality section. The series’ highest attended venue, the track hopes to build upon the energetic motocross faithful it hosted in 2007.

Honda returns as the event’s title sponsor for the third consecutive year and will showcase a full line of its off-road motorcycles at the race. Jackson Rancheria Hotel & Casino will be a presenting sponsor for the first time.

In partnership with The Dirt Diggers North Motorcycle Club, Hangtown will invite members of several local city councils, surrounding mayors, senators, and members of congress to be a part of an ongoing dignitary effort, showcasing the need for off-highway vehicle parks.
