Gymnast Payne qualifies for state meet

In the final meet of the season, the Gold Country Gymnastics compulsory girls team traveled to Oroville for a Halloween Jamboree and returned with scary good scores.

In the Level 3 older group, Sierra Payne scored a 36.35 in the all around and placed third. This was her highest all-around score all season, and she scored a 9 or above in all four events. Payne qualified for the Level 3 state meet and will be competing in a few weeks for the state title.

In the middle group, Cali Fellows scored a 32.25, which was her highest score of the season. Emily Starnes scored a 33.05 in the all around.



Sarah and Lauren Runion finished the season with two solid performances and both scored 8s on vault.

In the younger division, Nora Matthews scored 8s on both vault and beam and finished her season with a great meet. Elizabeth Harris scored a 33 in the all around and received an 8 or above in all four events.




In the Level 4 older group, Skyler Meinholz scored a 34.2 in the all around and had her best meet of the season. Amira Afshartabar had an 8.2 on the beam, which was her highest beam score of the season. She scored a 31.45 in the all around.

In the middle age group, Samantha Gobert placed sixth on vault and scored a 33.375 in the all around. Linden Lovett had a great performance for her first competition season and finished with a 30.725

Megan Kiser scored an 8.5 on beam for a solid final performance, and Katelyn Carter finished strong and competed in all four events.
