Good results for gymnasts

Five of the Rising Starz Gymnastics Academy’s best put it all on the line in two separate competitions last weekend.

In the Level 7 State Meet in Visalia, Erika Van Dyke took second in the vault (9.1), third in the floor exercise (9.175), fifth in the uneven bars (9.025) and 13th in the balance beam (8.0) for a sixth place in the in the 12-year-old age group all around competition (35.3).



In the 11-year-old age group, Sarah Avery led the way for RSG.




She finished third in both the vault (9.275) and floor exercise (9.3) for a combined score of 36.05 and eighth place overall.

Samantha Brumfield took fifth in the balance beam (9.15) and 14th in the vault (8.95) en route to 13th place in the all around (35.675).

Savannah Feinberg’s 8.925 in the vault put her in a tie for 12th place and 9.025 in the floor exercise was good enough for 14th. Feinberg took 17th in the all around with a score of 35.1.

RSA’s Julia Richards, who competed at the Western Regionals in Las Vegas, took sixth place in the floor exercise and 16th in the Level 10 all around.
