Gold Country Baseball Academy holding tryouts Saturday

Gold Country Baseball Academy has formed in Grass Valley, offering young baseball players another chance to take the diamond.

The newly formed youth baseball organization is currently developing tournament teams for players ages 7-18.

The academy is holding tryouts starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Condon Park in Grass Valley. Tryouts for players 7-9 years old will be from 9-11:30 a.m., players 10-12 years old will tryout from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and players 13 years and older will tryout from 2-4:30 p.m. There will also be tryouts at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Condon Park.



The number of teams will depend on tryouts.

Gold Country Baseball Academy teams will go by the moniker of Gold Country Bears. Teams will practice no less than twice a week and play in tournaments around Northern California. The Gold Country Bears teams will play from August 1-January 15, 2016.
