Four shine at Punt, Pass, Kick

Four area youth football players turned in prime performances at the NFL/Gatorade Punt, Pass and Kick sectional competition in Grass Valley Oct. 27.

Nevada City’s Reese Miner won the won the 12/13 boys age group with a combined distance of 296 feet, five inches.

Miner also earned an invitation to the Team Championship Competition at Candlestick Park in San Francisco Nov. 10.



Daniel Charvoz and Kara Nunnink, also of Nevada City, took second place in their respective age groups.

Charvoz posted a distance of 177-6 in the 10/11 boys age group. Nunnink, who competed inn the 10/11 girls division, finished with a distance of 86 feet even.




Gabe Humphers, of Grass Valley, rounded out the local top finishers. He totaled an 87-5 to take second in the 8/9 boys division.
