Forest Lake dropped by NU in soccer match

The host Nevada Union boys soccer team upped its win steak to two to start the season with a 3-0 victory over Forest Lake Christian at Sierra College Wednesday.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the first 51 minutes, but NU’s Adam Green changed all of that.

He broke the scoreless tie on a Wes Clay assist.

Garrett Smith doubled the lead on an assisted goal from Blue Smith five minutes later.

Smith then set up Clay at the 63-minute mark to make it 3-0.

The Miners, which outshot the visitors 20-7, got four saves in goal from Robbie Slaughter.

NU will host Marysville on the high school campus 4 p.m. Thursday.

FLC (0-3) will play at Golden Sierra (Garden Valley) 3:45 p.m. Friday.
