Football camps open

Fall camp officially got under way for both the Bear River and Nevada Union football programs Monday.

Due to Sac-Joaquin Section rules, full gear – and full contact – is not allowed until the fourth day of practice.

Bear River, above photo, spent some of its time Monday working on offensive plays, while Nevada Union focused a portion of its practice on field goal kicking and other special teams areas.

Both teams, who meet in a Sept. 5 scrimmage at Bear River High School’s J. David Ramsey Field, will be in full gear for the first time on Thursday.
