Forest Lake Christian’s varsity boys basketball survived two overtimes Tuesday to defeat host Valley Christian (Roseville) 69-63 in a foundation game.

Mark Boatman led the Falcons (3-1) with 28 points, while Taylor Lawrence had a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

The teams were deadlocked 54-54 at the end of regulation and 58-58 at the end of the first overtime before the Falcons outscored Valley Christian 11-4 in the final OT.

“For the first game this year, we were in a little better condition (than the opponent),” said FLC coach Steve Gonet. “I think they just ran out of gas.”

Forest Lake Christian travels to Sacramento Adventist (Carmichael) at 6:30 p.m. Today.

The Falcon junior varsity squad also defeated Valley this week, knocking off the hosts 56-46 Monday.

Brittany Allen scored a team-high 16 points and Taylor Kilgore added 13 more as the Forest Lake Christian girls basketball team topped host Burbank (Sacramento) 62-56 Tuesday.

Allen also finished with eight rebounds, five steals and three assists.

FLC’s Brooke Hodges totaled 12 points in the win.

The Lady Falcons host their annual Christmas Classic Friday and Saturday.

Forest Lake Christian’s junior varsity girls also defeated Burbank, pulling out a 67-61 win Monday.
