Falcons rout the Panthers

Jimmy Wagner drilled a three-run home run and Casey Hobbs struck out seven in five innings work as the host Forest Lake Christian baseball team mercy-ruled Sacramento Lutheran 11-0 Friday.

FLC (10-5 overall, 4-2 Central Valley Christian League) led 1-0 going into the third when Wagner sparked a 10-0 burst with the long ball.



Matt Lockhart went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.




Michael Weiss went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jake Kobliska had a single and two RBIs.

Hobbs and Joe Martin also tallied a base hit each.

FLC will play at Wilton Christian 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Bruins beat Del Oro linksters

Ryan Ursiny carded an even par 35 to nab first place as the host Bear River boys golf team beat Del Oro of Loomis 189-194 at the Lake of the Pines Friday.

Steve Chan and Ryan Heuseveldt each shot 38s in a tie for fourth. Ben Honey and Tom Eisenhower were right behind in a tie for sixth with a 39 each.

Jeff Remillard finished with a non-scoring 41.

Bear River (8-3 Sierra Foothill League) will play Woodcreek of Roseville at Sierra Pines G.C. 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

FLC golf team remains flawless

The Forest Lake Christian boys golf team kept its perfect season intact with a 211-253 win over visiting Vacaville Christian at the Lake of the Pines Friday.

FLC improved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the Central Valley Christian League.

David Hicks carded an even par 35 to take medalist honors for the hosts.

Jason Farnum shot a 40 to take second place. Brian Zard (42) took fourth. Nick Brown and Jeff Pulliam shot a 47 each to finish tied for fifth.

FLC will play at Sacramento Lutheran 3:30 p.m. Tuesday

Falcons’ swimmers excel in pool

Forest Lake Christian’s Dan Robinson and Brittney Howell each set personal records in the pool in the past two days.

Robinson, a freshman, set his career mark in the frosh/soph 100 meter butterfly with a winning time of 1 minute, 11 seconds at the Nevada Union versus Rio Americano of Sacramento dual meet Thursday.

Robinson also won both the frosh/soph 200 freestyle (2:11.01) and 100 backstroke (1:11.12).

Howell set a personal best in the frosh/soph 100 freestyle with a time of 1:06.19 at the Placer of Auburn/Del Oro of Loomis dual Friday. The freshman followed that second place finish with a sixth in the varsity 100 breaststroke at 1:32.50.

Bruins down Placer

Dillon Chaney fanned seven and Seth Miller drove in the game winner as the host Bear River baseball team beat Placer of Auburn 6-2 Friday.

The score was tied 2-2 in the third when the Bruins (9-5 overall, 4-5 Sierra Foothill League) made their move.

Matt Logue reached base on a dropped third strike, then scored on a Miller double to put the hosts up to stay.

Miller went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored.

Kody Keroher and Joey Mar each went 2-for-2.

Bear River will host Del Oro of Loomis 3:30 p.m. Monday.
