Enough football, where’s volleyball coverage?

I find it a little strange that the usually great sports writers of The Union have sadly neglected the girls from Nevada Union, Bear River, Forest Lake, varsity volleyball teams. Where is our preseason series on the upcoming 2004 season? Is it you only have time for football?

How do you overlook all of the great teams that we had in this sport? How do you overlook the team that just went all the way to the state championship? Was not volleyball one of the most popular sports in the Olympics?

The girls that packed the gym last year all the way throught the month of December, now seem to be an afterthought in the paper, a small burp if you forgive the expression.

Nevada Union is a two-time San Juaquin Section title holder, not to mention the NorCal Champions of 2003.

One might scream penalty, if all we read was your sports section for the last three weeks, but in volleyball, you would receive a red card, which would cost you!

Just a mom,

Janice Daley
