Early lead a Weisz move

Colfax’s Colby Weisz blew the doors off the competition at the Twin Cities Speedway in Marysville Saturday to notch his first California Sprint Car Civil War Series “A” Main win.

Weisz, who took sixth in the 410 Sprint Car”A” Main at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico the night before, grabbed ahold of the lead in the first lap and didn’t let go.

Grass Valley’s Mark Hall took fifth.

In the “B” Main, Grass Valley’s Billy Wallace was runner up, while Hall was third, and Brad Sweet and Pat Harvey, both of Grass Valley, were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Jeremy Burt, also of Grass Valley, won the “C” Main.

The drivers’ points standings were not available as of presstime.

The series will take a two-week hiatus, then kick back into high gear at the Placerville Speedway July 31.
