DePass, Lowe end year at Reserve

Competing in the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters tournament at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, Nevada Union’s Logan Lowe and Bear River’s Jake DePass put their skills up against the best from around the section.

To advance to the Norcal tournament, individuals needed to shoot under par at the par-72 course.

Lowe, a sophomore, just missed the cut despite six birdies on the day, finishing with a two-over-par 74. DePass, a senior, closed his prep golf career with an 84.

The day’s medalist was Ponderosa’s Corey Pereira with an impressive four-under 68.

The teams moving on to the NorCal regional tournament Monday at Diablo Grande are Jesuit with the day’s best team score of 367, Oak Ridge was next with a team tally of 385, and Del Oro advanced with a team score of 386. The defending state champion, Granite Bay, finished with a 387 and was eliminated from team play.

Coaches may submit game reports by email at or by phone at 530-477-4232. deadline for submission is 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 p.m. Sunday.
