Pink was the featured color at the recent C.A.T. (Cancer Awareness Tournament)  held at Alta Sierra Country Club on Oct. 16. There were 56 golfers playing in the tournament and another 14 women who joined them for lunch.

The proceeds from the donations raised at the C.A.T. will directly benefit patients by funding mammograms at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Imaging Center for those that cost is a barrier. To date they have served more than 1,000 women and men in western Nevada County.

Individuals that need a mammogram, but have no financial means to pay for it are referred to SNMH Women’s Imaging Center’s Nurse Navigator.

This past year 106 women received help. Approximately $2,600 was raised at this year’s tournament.

Coaches and event organizers may submit game reports by email at or by phone at 530-477-4232.
