Colfax rolls Argonaut to open season

The Colfax Falcons’ started the 2014 season off on the right foot Friday night, beating Argonaut, 34-14, behind a stellar run game.

Colfax opened up a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after a Tim Rawlins 3-yard touchdown run, and a 13-yard touchdown pass from Marcus Jackson to Spencer Guitierrez.

Argonaut would climb back into the game with a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown by C.J. Wynn. But, the momentum was short lived as Rawlins would punch in another touchdown before halftime to give the Falcons a 21-6 edge. Rawlins finished the night with 138 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. Also eating up yards was Lukas Rineer with 93 yards on 11 carries, and Jackson carried the ball 12 times for 57 yards.



Colfax put the game away in the second half with a 25-yard touchdown catch by Matthew Harshman and a rush touchdown from Sam LaHaie.

Leading the Colfax defense was Beau Baggett with an interception. Dakota Barnes and Jakob Nored also stood out on defense/




The Falcons also won their JV game, 33-16.
