Classic golfing

Liz Coots eyes her fairway shot during Monday’s second annual Nevada County South Rotary Club Golf Classic at Alta Sierra Country Club.

The event, which requests that participants deck themselves out in 1920s golf attire, included more than 130 golfers. Larry Burkhardt, the club’s president-elect designate, said this year’s Classic raised more than $17,000, which pushed the club’s two-year total to more than $33,000 raised. The funds raised are directed to the Rotarian activities and charities the club supports.
