Bruins rush to victory over Johnson West

The Bruins got rushing touchdowns from Cody Yeager, Jon Szkotak, Scott Keever and Dusty Tabellija and a field goal from John Savoie to remain undefeated in league play.

Bruin (5-1, 3-0) quarterback Josh Rumsey notched his fifth touchdown of the season on a 10-yard strike to wideout Bryan Hart.



Colfax 39,

Oakmont 15




Colfax quarterback Ben Galbraith threw for 266 yards on 13-of-15 passing and three touchdowns as the Falcons kept pace with Bear River for the league’s top spot.

Nick Paskey led the Falcon (6-0, 3-0) ground attack with 120 yards and two touchdowns. Bear River transfer Mike McCoy had six catches for 123 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Colfax’s Chris Pulver returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown.

Mesa Verde 42,

Mira Loma 8

Wes Wooten rushed for three touchdowns and Nick Fischer added another as the Mesa Verde moved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in league.

Maverick quarterback Matt Parks also got in on the scoring with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Chris Cavalier.

Foothill 41,

Lincoln 0

Lincoln dropped to 2-4 overall with the lopsided loss to the Capital Valley Conference’s No.2 team.

The Zebras, who lost 35-7 to Bear River Oct. 4, are 0-2 in the PVL.
