Bruins heat up at good time

Three Bear River swimmers posted personal records at the Sac-Joaquin Section meet at Tokay High School in Lodi Friday and Saturday.

Kellyn Loehr turned in a PR time of 1 minute, 7.54 seconds in the 100-meter breaststroke to take second in the junior varsity finals.

The sophomore also took fourth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.67.

Julie Fry also set a career best. The freshman turned in a 1:05.65 in the 100 backstroke to finish ninth in the JV finals.

Loehr and Fry joined Jake Smith and Allison Hrutky to take 10th in the medley relay (2:02.56).

Adam Sweet, who finished 23rd overall in the 100 backstroke, won his preliminary heat with personal record 1:01.00.
