Bridgeport volunteer/docent training on the calendar for spring session

You can learn how to be a docent, or volunteer, who shows people around Bridgeport covered bridge at a training class this spring.

The South Yuba River State Park is accepting application for 2002 spring docent training classes, to be held at Bridgeport Visitor Center.



Volunteers can work at the visitor center, do history research, be part of the oral history program or participate in “living history” presentations.




For applications or more information, call a park ranger at Bridgeport at (530) 432-2546. Applications are also available at the State Park office at 10556 East Empire Street. Call that office at (530) 273-3884.

The deadline for application is March 1. Classes begin on Sat., March 9 and conclude Sat., May 11.
