Being on the road didn’t slow the Bear River girls basketball team Friday night as the Bruins downed Pioneer Valley League foe Lincoln 55-25.

Allison Cooley led the way with 13 points while Kayla Smith added 12 points and eight rebounds. Karli Kephart led the team with five assists while Chrysten Cotney had four.

The Bruins outscored Lincoln 20-4 in the first quarter and 11-4 in the second. Cooley and Smith each scored eight points in the first quarter.

“We ran the ball well in the first quarter,” Bruins head coach Duwaine Ganskie said. “We got a lot of points out of our transition game and did a better job on defense. We stayed out of foul trouble and kept them off the line.”

Bear River remained undefeated in the conference with a 7-0 record and is now 18-2 overall.

Next up for the Bruins is a trip to Mira Loma on Wednesday.
