Meaghan Noud dropped in a team-high 15 points and Chelsea Haverty scored a season-high 12 points in the Bear River girls basketball team’s 58-46 win over Ripon Christian in their Sacramento Challenge non-league series matchup at Center High School (Antelope) Saturday.

Bear River (20-3 overall) led the three-time defending Sac-Joaquin Section Division V champs 14-3 after the first period and never looked back.

“We got off to 10-0 lead (thanks to) some pretty good defense,” Lady Bruin head coach Duwaine Ganskie said. “Talking to some people after the game, I guess they hadn’t seen the level of defensive pressure we (can deliver).”

Cassie Smith, who missed the last two games due to an ankle injury, finished with 11 points in the win.

Nicole Scott finished with 10 points for Bear River.
