Alumni notebook: Ceo sisters make way in Super Regionals

A pair of talented softball players, who made their way through the Bear River program, will be helping their current teams navigate through the NCAA Super Regionals this weekend.

Courtney Ceo, a 2010 Bear River graduate and 2013 first team All-Pac-12 selection, will take the field for No. 3-ranked Oregon as it hosts No. 14 Nebraska in a best-of-three series for the right to play in the Women’s College World Series. Game 1 can be seen 5 p.m. Saturday on ESPNU. Game 2 starts at noon Sunday, and Game 3, if necessary, will be played immediately following.

Stephanie Ceo, a 2012 Bear River graduate, will play for No. 4 Texas as it hosts Florida State in a best-of-three series with the winner advancing to the Women’s College World Series. Game 1 can be viewed 6 p.m. Friday on ESPNU. Game 2 starts at noon Saturday, and Game 3, if necessary, will be played immediately following.



Courtney, a junior infielder, started 56 games for the Ducks (49-9), batting .404 with 69 hits, four doubles, four home runs and 27 RBIs. She also stole 22 bases on 25 attempts.

Stephanie, a freshman outfielder, started 52 games and played in 55 for the Longhorns, batting .333 with three doubles, a triple and 14 RBIs. Stephanie has also stolen eight bases.
