Here’s a look at how some college athletes with local ties fared over the weekend:

Cross Country

n Evan McDaniel – Nevada Union (’00); The College of Wooster (Ohio)

– The senior took 17th at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships 8K race with a time of 26 minutes, 33 seconds.


n Matt Massari – NU (’98); The University of California at Davis

– The sophomore running back totaled 18 yards on four carries in a 14-7 win over Western Washington.

n Jefferson Heidelberger – NU (’01); The University of Montana

– The sophomore receiver had one catch for 11 yards in a 30-21 loss to Eastern Washington.

n Matt Logue – Bear River (’02); California State University – Sacramento

– The freshman linebacker had three tackles in a 41-38 win over Weber State.


n Jackie Courdet – NU (’01); California State University – Stanislaus

– The sophomore outside hitter tallied 13 kills, eight digs and two blocks in a three game win over UC-Davis.

n Amber Donovan – Forest Lake Christian (’02); Westmont University (Santa Barbara)

– The freshman setter had a combined 47 assists, six digs, three aces and a kill in wins over Concordia and Hope International universities.
