Adult Sports Report

The combined branch’s of SIR’s came up big in the Second Annual Silver Legacy Bowling Tournament at the National Bowling stadium in Reno.

Branch 124, (Alta Sierra) 55,(Grass Valley) 78,(Nevada City) and 11(Penn Valley) sent two teams to Reno on Aug. 17-18.

Team One (Chug Brandos, Ted Brandos, Glenn McCulloch and Clint Gunderson) took first place with team two ( Leo Dengler, Eldon Smith, Clay Hansen and Jim Levens) taking third place. In addition to the good showing by our two teams, we had many individual awards.



The tournament was made up of two divisions. The A division was for averages over 169. The B division was for averages under 168. The tournament consisted of the team event, singles and doubles with an All Events category.

Levens, from Branch 55, took first place in All Events in the A division. All Event in the B division was won by Chug Brandos with Dengler (Branch 55) taking second, Smith (Branch 55) taking fifth place and Ted Brandos (Branch 55) taking eighth.




Doubles in the A division was won by Levens and Hansen (Branch 124). Doubles in the B division was won by Dengler and Smith with Chug Brandos and Ted Brandos taking second place.

Levens came in second place in the A division singles while Chug Brandos won first place in the B division with Hansen second, Ted Brandos fourth, Smith sixth and Dengler 10th.
