5 questions with … Angela Hacche

Angela Hacche, a Nevada Union senior guard, has played her last basketball game in Ali Gymnasium as a Lady Miner – not that her career as a basketball player is over.

The starting wing player will likely lead her team into the Division I Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs this week for a second straight year.

And she also has aspirations of playing in college next season.

The Union Sports Writer Scott P. Hopper caught up with Hacche this week for five questions:

Q.What is the most memorable basketball moment of your high school career?

A. “It was our Napa playoff game. It was really, really close. It went down to the wire and we won by four. That night the team had a sleep-over in Napa.”

Q. What does your team need to do to go deep into the playoffs?

A.”I think right now we need to focus, and get through (Friday’s game with Oakmont). I’ll say team rebounding.”

Q. What advice do you have for younger players who have looked up to you?

A. “I would say work really, really hard. You will make some great relationships and great memories.”

Q. Where are you going to be next year at this time?

A. “I have not decided yet. I have not heard back from UC Santa Cruz. If that does not work out, I will go to Sierra College and play there. I think if I didn’t play next year, I would really miss it.”

Q. Could you give me a Nevada Union Lady Miners coach McDaniel-ism?

A. “He always says ‘Let’s do this action.'”
