100-mile endurance run canceled

The 35th Western States 100-mile Endurance Run was canceled late Wednesday due to fires in the area.

Organizers cited the proximity of the fire to the race course, air quality deterioration and the safety of runners.

It was undetermined if the race would be rescheduled but organizers said they are currently “working on a revised schedule of runner activities for Thursday and Friday in Squaw Valley.”
