Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames offers classes and events to spark your inner artist
April 10, 2017
Are you looking for something fun and different to do with your mom for Mother's Day? Or maybe you're just longing for a fun night out with friends? Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames is once again offering their Ladies Craft Night, back by popular demand, from 6:30-9 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.
Enjoy delicious drinks and treats while doing six Pinterst-inspired crafts at different stations throughout the store. "It's a social night," said Josh McGovern, Director of Marketing. "You can have zero crafting background and come in and do this. The most technical thing you have to use is a glue gun."
The capacity for the event is 90 people, and often there are groups of friends, mothers and daughters, and some even have three generations coming together to enjoy this special crafting night. Since the Crafting Nights often sell out, if there is enough interest McGovern says that they will consider doing an encore event two to three weeks after Mother's Day. Take heed that the May 13 event is almost sold out, so if you are interested in that date, call right now!
The crafting nights began two years ago in October, when Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames offered their first one as a holiday-themed event so that people could make ornaments, gifts, and other items for the holiday season. It was so popular that they added the Mother's Day event, and that has proven to be just as well-received. "These are fast-paced fun events, and we have people come back again and again," McGovern said.
This all-ages crafting night is $20 per person, and payment must be made in advance (cash only, please). Anyone who attends also has the opportunity to do some private, after hours shopping, as well!
In addition to crafting night, Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames has fun classes nearly every day throughout the year on a variety of arts and crafts topics. Upcoming classes include:
- Sew Simple Skirt from 9 a.m.-noon on April 13
- Introduction to Still Life Painting with Alcohol Inks from 2-4 p.m. on April 15
- Wilton Cake Decorating Course from 1-5:30 p.m. on April 17
- Pendants from 1-3 p.m. on April 20
- Creative Lettering from 10 a.m.-noon on April 29
- And so much more!
Besides special classes, Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames holds weekly Mommy and Me art and craft classes from 9-10 a.m. every Monday ($10), where parents and their 3-5 year old children can spend an hour creating art and memories that will last a lifetime.
