Zoning law erosion

I am a Los Angeles transplant, making Chicago Park my new home approximately five years ago. Nevada County was selected over several other counties. My desire was to locate a peaceful residential setting. The agriculture setting was a positive addition.

I am now very concerned about what I perceive to be erosion in the integrity of the zoning laws in the Peardale-Chicago Park area.

1. I first saw an accessory building constructed on a small residential lot, which was used as a workshop for a sheet metal fabrication business.

2. At a nearby parcel, a large, imposing structure was constructed, and is currently being used by a stone fabrication business.

3. This was followed a few miles away by another large and imposing structure built prior to a residential structure. I believe this building will be used for commercial reasons.

4. There is now a second large building being constructed by the stone fabrication business.

5. A family-operated building contractor is currently operating outside the requirements of Nevada County’s Home Business Licensing Ordinances from a residential/agriculture-zoned parcel of land.

I am trying not to be negative, but it appears a new zoning classification is developing. One of residential/agriculture/commercial.
