Wolf Creek confusion

I have read several articles/columns in the last couple of days criticizing the Grass Valley City Council for not having adopted the name “Wolf Creek” for a frontage street.

Perhaps it is a little known fact that there is, indeed, already a road named “Wolf Creek” in the general vicinity of Grass Valley. In fact, the road is within 10 miles of the city limits. It is the cross road that my neighbors and I use as a reference in case emergency assistance is required.

It would have been very unfortunate for those of us who live in the area to fail to receive the assistance that we required because of any confusion which may have occurred due to the existence of two “Wolf Creek” roads.

While I can only surmise this to be the reasoning behind the rejection of the name, perhaps it would have been helpful for the city to have explained the reasoning behind the rejection of the name to the folks who submitted it, instead of ignoring the request.
