Why we live here

I’ve lived in Grass Valley for going on 20 years now; my wife is a native. We chose to live here because of the open space, great scenery, small town charm, four seasons, light traffic, unique shops, low crime, my list could go on forever.

More and more I see politicians and others striving to bring shopping centers, box stores, interchanges, new roads, tract housing, row housing, zero lot line housing, parking structures, gi-nor-mous churches, and other – dare I say it? – citified things to our charming community. It’s time to remember why we moved here and choose to stay here in the first place. If you want more Roseville, then I’ll say it, go back to Roseville. San Francisco and Sacramento are nice to visit, but there is a reason I don’t live there. And if that’s where you’re from and those cities offer the big stuff you like, well I for one will help you pack … Keep Grass Valley/Nevada City as charming as they’ve always been.
