Why not take out Saddam secretly?

One of my great frustrations in life is the lack of imagination on the part of our government.

We had a precious opportunity for a new and creative response with 9/11, but we fell back the old approach of war.

We take bulldozers in where a sharp arrow could do the job. It cost thousands of innocent lives, including our own, and we never even got our target … bin Laden. We are about to do the same thing in Iraq.

We could argue (and I would) that we NEED to do more about Saddam. However, if we must, why can’t we use intelligence (ah … another misnomer), find out WHERE he is and send undercover the right people to handle it?
