Why another conservancy?

Regarding the Aug. 26 article in The Union concerning the proposed Sierra Conservancy Bill, which states the start-up cost will be $655,000. In the future, the yearly cost could run up to $10 million annually. We already have the Forest Service, The Fish & Game Commission, also a Wilderness Commission, Water Commission, plus whatever. Why more?

I am not well versed regarding the exact labels, but I certainly do not feel we need another group taxing our already horrendous budget. This proposal sounds as though we would be better served retaining the existing entities.

Please, Governor, just fulfill a portion of the promises you made when you ran for office.
