Where is the common sense?

A recent letter writer offered that, “if you believe that blue states produce no food, you are a conservative.” Having been born in New Hampshire to a mother, father and five uncles all with farming backgrounds, I find this statement utterly ridiculous, to say the least. This moronic comment is followed up with, “If you are conservative – you are dangerous.” Yes, we are dangerous. Dangerous to those who would destroy our way of life and dangerous to liberal whiners, as well.

This letter was followed by another equally adroit misinterpretation of the Declaration of Independence. He offered that, “the objective of government is to see to it that every person is adequately educated, housed, fed, employed, and provided with medical care.” This is a succinct description of the liberal point of view – let the government do it all. Come to think of it, this “system” was tried in the old Soviet Union.
