Where is CHP?

I have read and heard and experienced so much complaining and speculation and questions about Highway 49, that I wonder that they haven’t closed it altogether. It’s hazardous, right?

Widen the road. Put in median strips. Erect concrete barriers. Designate it for horses only. Great ideas. I have just on simple question: where is the highway patrol? I drive 49 constantly, and maybe, just maybe twice a month do I see a highway patrolman. The rule seems to be there are no rules. Do anything you’re man enough to do, no matter how wild. You want safety? Get half a dozen patrolmen out there. Have them write plenty of hair-raising citations, for any violations. I expect we would see some changed driving habits.
