What are we guilty of?

Re “Ballard adoption botched”:

Next time, please don’t start with, “my heart breaks” when your only intention is to point a finger. Is it your heart that is in a million pieces? Is it you who weeps each day? Do your arms ache to hold the son you lost, the little boy who hated to be away from his momma for a single moment of the day? Are you afraid to simply breathe, knowing how much it will hurt?

You don’t even have all the facts, yet you chose to make an opinion anyway. The birth father, whose rights you are so concerned about, abandoned his unborn child only days after finding out the birth mother was pregnant. This birth father, who cared so little for his son before he was born, still cared so little that he was willing to destroy his son’s life by ripping him away from all that he loved.

Parents have an obligation to love and protect their child. What are we guilty of? Adopting? For being, as you stated, more Christian? For doing what any parent would do when someone threatens to harm his or her child? Or for loving Nathaniel more than the air we breathe?
