What a world

Here is what Planned Parenthood really has to say. The following is a quote from a recent fund-raising letter sent by Gloria Feldt, president of Planned Parenthood.

“Many members of Congress, and now the President seem to feel that their political base is represented by religious political extremist groups like Pat Robertson’s Christian Coalition, and James Dobson’s Focus on the Family. These groups represent fringe minorities of society … Let’s drown out the shrill and misinformed voices of religious political extremists.”

Supporters say the pro-choice movement wants acceptance of their beliefs and in turn accepts the beliefs of others. That is unless you believe the unborn should be protected. Then you are a fringe militant minority with shrill misinformed beliefs that need to be drowned out.

However if we do embrace P. P. into our community, then according to some, we could more readily exterminate the unborn “lowlife and yahoos” who are sure to degrade the environment. My, oh my, isn’t capital punishment for potential polluters a bit severe? Perhaps these people would agree to Jonathon Swift’s solution to the Irish famine: “Eat the babies.” Not only can food be provided, but also the surplus population decreased.

Some of the people remind me of a housemate I once had during my college years in Berkeley. Debbi worked for Planned Parenthood in Oakland. One evening she came home after a successful day at work and said, “What Oakland doesn’t need is another black baby.” Would these Planned Parenthood supporters agree that Nevada County doesn’t need another poor white trash baby. As the Wicked Witch cried when melting in the “Wizard of Oz,” “What a world, what a world.”
