Kimberly Ann Morello and Robert Edward Gilbert, both of Reno, were married Dec. 15 at Combie Bible Church in Grass Valley. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Dwight Koopmans.
The bride is the daughter of Rick and Ann Morello of Reno. She is a graduate of Procter R. Hug High School and attended Truckee Meadows Community College and University of Nevada at Reno. She works for Verizon Wireless in Carson City.
The groom, a Bear River High School graduate, is the son of Mark and Beth Gilbert of Lake of the Pines. He graduated from Bear River High School in 1996, and attended UNR. He is a lance corporal in the U.S. Marines.
The bride wore a white sleeveless gown with a beaded bodice. A waist-length veil was secured by a beaded headpiece.
She carried an antique handkerchief previously carried by her mother and grandmother at their respective weddings. The bridal bouquet was comprised of red and white silk roses.
The maid of honor was Kim Corstorphine of Newark.
The bridesmaids were Betsy Gilbert, the groom’s sister, of Auburn and Jessica Nies of Grass Valley.
The flower girl was the groom’s cousin, Kaylee Williams, of Aptos.
The ring bearer was the bride’s cousin, Brian Campbell, of Los Gatos.
The best man was Casey Hinton of San Luis Obispo.
The groomsmen were Alex Blue of Addison, Texas, and Michael Morello, the bride’s brother, of Reno.
The ushers were Todd Gilbert, the groom’s brother, of Aubur and Brian Morello, the bride’s brother, of Reno.
The candlelighters were the bride’s cousin, Ben Campbell, of Los Gatos; and the groom’s cousin, Jessie Long, of Santa Barbara.
The pianist and soloist was the bride’s aunt, Sue Watkins, of Boise, Idaho.
Approximately 150 guests attended the ceremony and Italian-buffet reception in the Lake of the Pines clubhouse.
The three-tiered cake was prepared by the Cake Artist of Nevada City and decorated with a glass heart and doves.
The guest-book attendant was Janelle Smith of Carson City.
The program attendant was Ryan Williams, the groom’s cousin, of Aptos.
Special guests included the groom’s grandmothers, Elizabeth Williams and Lynne Corrigan; the bride’s grandparents, Helen Morello and Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kauffman; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends of the bride and groom.
The couple honeymooned in Galveston and New Orleans.
They will live in Oceanside when the groom returns from Japan this summer.
