Sarah Blecksmith and Ryan Beal, both of Cambridge, Mass., were married July 31 at Crystal Hermitage, Ananda, in Nevada City. The ceremony was officiated by Sariah Mikaels.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Lydia Blecksmith of Nevada City. She is a graduate of Nevada Union High School and of Carnegie Mellon University. She works for the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory.

The bridegroom is the son of Pauline Farr and Gerald Beal, both of Cottonwood, Ariz. He is a graduate of Del Oro High School and of Brigham Young University. He works at Boston University Medical Center.

The bride wore an ivory-colored tea-length silk gown and carried a bouquet of organic flowers.

Approximately 60 guests attended the ceremony and buffet reception at the South Pine Cafe in Grass Valley.

The wedding cake was made by Barbara of Valentine’s.

Bridal flowers were provided by Lin Donald at Indian Hill Gardens.

Music for the ceremony was provided by clarinetist Rebecca Tout and flutist Laura Scarlata.

Music for the reception was provided by John and Tyler Beal, the groom’s brothers.

The photographer was Anne Blecksmith-Granata, the bride’s sister.

The couple lives in Cambridge.
