Voter registration deadline looms

Monday is the last day to register for voters who want to receive election information, such as a sample ballot booklet or absentee ballot.

The final registration deadline to vote on March 2, however, is Feb. 17.

Free, postage-paid Voter Registration Cards are available at 70 locations throughout Nevada County, including government offices, post offices, libraries and the Chamber of Commerce.

Voters are required to re-register after every move or change of mailing address.

Also, polling places on March 2 will be the same as they were in the October recall election. Voters who voted by mail will again vote by mail, according to the Elections Office.

To confirm registration information, call 265-1298 before Feb. 2. The toll-free number is (888) 395-1298.
