Vote no on Prop. 56

Passage of Proposition 56 would lower the vote needed to pass a budget and to reduce Proposition 13’s requirement of a two-thirds vote. Passage would allow your property taxes to be raised with only a 55 percent vote! Backers are calling this the” Budget Accountability Act.” Don’t be fooled again! In 2000, Proposition 39 passed eliminating the two-thirds vote to raise your property taxes to pay for school bonds. This proposition was likewise promoted with the words “accountability” to make voters feel comfortable! Think about it – it’s an attack on Proposition 13! Vote no on Prop. 56!
