Vote No on Measures A and B

Measures A and B on the San Juan Ridge will increase annual property taxes $27 for developed /$14 for undeveloped parcels. Instead of installing small well-distributed parks, all the eggs went into a half-a-million-dollar-basket on Oak Tree Road. And now they need money to pay for insurance, etc. For many, the location by car would be as fast as going to Nevada City.

My family has been paying property taxes here for over a decade and some goes to “park district” in the tax code, and we paid $700 building our home for park district mitigation fees. Where has this money gone that so many have paid, been squandered? My fee would be $82 annually on our parcels, for a family of three. This demand for money is not fair or reasonable now during hard times for so many.

The park committee thinks they have the land owners over a barrel. We must push back and say no! They bit off more than they can chew (pay for). Make users of the park pay a use fee – that is actually fair. My family is voting no on this high-cost park and we urge you too, until common sense prevails.
