Volunteers should focus on public safety, not politics

One challenge in providing health and safety services to our diverse community includes attracting volunteers without regard for their political viewpoint and encouraging them to focus on public safety tasks, not politics. A recent flier linking the North San Juan Fire Protection District to an individual endorsing a particular candidate for supervisor does not help our volunteer fire department accomplish its difficult mission.
