Volunteers needed to mentor students

Nevada Union High School has a number of small learning communities designed to promote a “school within a school” on its campus. One of these groups is called The Partnership Academy. It has been in existence for six years.

Program teacher Louise McFadden puts together a mentor program in her junior English classes.

Adult volunteers lead small group discussions once a month. Topics vary from tips on finding a job to advice on looking for a college.

Anyone who would like to volunteer can call McFadden at 273-4431, ext. 209.
