The Nevada County Volunteer Action Center matches the time and talents of volunteers with opportunities to help individuals and nonprofit organizations that provide human services.

For information on the following positions or other volunteer jobs, call 272-5041, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weekdays; or stop by 11743 Maltman Drive, Grass Valley.

Board of directors member

Help provide assistance to the disabled. Experience in this area would be a plus. Duties would include fund-raising, accounting and providing a leadership team for the organization on its board. Several volunteers are needed.



Help end domestic violence in Nevada County. A variety of tasks awaits someone willing to be directly involved with those in need of this assistance. Training will be provided; minimum six-month commitment.

Drivers for meals

Many seniors are homebound and are unable to prepare a well-balanced meal. Help by delivering hot, nutritious meals. One day a week for about two hours.


Your nursing credential and abilities can help disabled seniors. Assist with meals and restroom visits. One-and-a-half hours, two or three times a month.
